September 2017 Book Haul

Hello everyone! How are you all doing?

This is the time of the month when I usually do my wrap-up but because I didn’t finish any books in the month of September (and I call myself a reader, ha) I thought it would be better to do only a book haul. And I bought many books, maybe even too many. But who wouldn’t like to buy books? Okay, onto the books!

Just a moment, I have to recall what books I actually bought *goes to the bookself* Now I’m ready!

● ● ●

You saw right, I bought the whole Mortal Instruments series! I finally found all the books in this series in hardbacks and with first edition covers. I couldn’t be more happy! I’m sure you all already know what books belong to this series but I’m still going to list them (just for fun):

  1. City of Bones
  2. City of Ashes
  3. City of Glass
  4. City of Fallen Angles
  5. City of Lost Souls
  6. City of Heavenly Fire

And all of them written by wonderful Cassandra Clare (duh!). And to continue with Cassie’s books, I also bought… drum roll please…

The Bane Chronicles (by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan & Maureen Johnson). This book was 40% off on Book Depository and it’s a hardback, WHAT?! (what a bargain!). Next, I bought…

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay (by J.K. Rowling) I’ve had my eyes on this book for so long and now (finally) I have it. I haven’t still read it but I’m sure I get to read it soon (yeah, right! You keep saying yourself that!). And of course, this one is also a hardback.

I wasn’t planning on getting the next three books which are…

The Hate U Give (by Angie Thomas), All the Light We Cannot See (by Anthony Doerr) and The One Memory of Flora Banks (by Emily Barr). When I bought The Hate U Give, the cashier said me that it is supposed to be really good book. She also chatted me something else and when I left she wished me great reading time. I love when cashiers start chatting!

And the last two books I got are A Monster Calls (by Patrick Ness) and Poison Study (by Maria V. Snyder). Both of them are paperbacks (as were the three former books) and A Monster Calls is the movie tie-in edition, as you can probably see.

● ● ●

So all in all, I got 14 books. I actually didn’t count them before writing this post so now that I see the number, it feels much bigger (haha!). I’ve never bought this many books in one month but I don’t regret anything!

Thanks for reading! ❤

Thank you for reading and happy weekend! ❤

My current obsession

Hey y’ll. Sorry that I have been super quite once again but I didn’t have a clue that school would get this busy right away. But today I’m going to share with you guys my current obsession that I’m absolutely loving, more than I can even express.

At the end of this summer I got myself HBO because it has many series that Netflix doesn’t and I wanted to watch them. There was one particular show that I’ve been wanting to watch for a long time and I finished the fifth season ten minutes ago. Can you guess what it is?

Yes, it’s The Walking Dead! This show is incredible, it has everything I could ask for a show to have. And everytime I watch this, it makes me wanna go outside and run in the woods, and pretend that I’m running away from zombies. Or as they call them in the show “walkers”. Genius!

Most of the time watching this, I was on the edge of my seat and my heart was pounting in my chest. The journey was insane, and I can’t even tell you how I felt when I realised that there aren’t any more episodes on HBO! I wanna watch more!

Also, I already own DVDs of the first two seasons. I ordered them when I finished season three because I was loving the show. And in the near future, I’m going to order the rest of the seasons that are available. I believe there are seven seasons now if I remember correctly.

This was just a quick post because I wanted to share this with you. Have you watch The Walking Dead, I wanna know your thoughts of it.

Thanks for reading! ❤

P.S. After asking you guys and doing a poll on Goodreads I chose The Book Dimension as a new name for my blog because it got slightly more votes (it was a tough call). And also, what do you like this updated layout?

New name for my blog?

Hello. Today’s post is going to be a bit different, as you may have guessed from the titel of this post. So, when I first created this blog, I didn’t have a catchy name for it and that’s why I ended up calling it simply A Book Blog. And to be honest, I’m not a big fan of that name, but I wanted to take my time before changing it because I wanted to give my blog a name that I wouldn’t regret.

I have two name ideas but I wanted you guys to be involved in this. So basically, the one that you guys like more is going to be the new name of my blog. I love both of them but I wanna hear your honest opinion. It would probably be good if I told you the options so that you can choose your favorite. Here they are:

  1. The Book Dimension
  2. Living In Books

Those are the two names from which you can choose your favorite. Let me know your opinion in the comments, don’t be shy. I’m gonna announce the final name on next Friday (September 1st). I hope everyone gets involved!

Thanks for reading! ❤

Down the TBR Hole #7

Hello everyone! Today I decided to continue going through my TBR, once again. It’s been a while since I last tackled my TBR. So, if you didn’t know, this meme was created by Lia from Lost In A Story and here’s how it works:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read self
  • Order on ascending date added
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) book, and after every time you just continue where you left last time
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or shoud it go?

1 . The Secrets of Attraction by Robin Constantine. This book doesn’t really catch my eye and I didn’t get very excited when I read the blurb. That’s why the decision is easy.

Judgement: go

2. Bossypants by Tina Fey. I’ve heard some people talk about this book and they all really liked it, but I don’t see myself reading it in the near future.

Judgement: go

3. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This book has been standing on my bookself, and waiting for me to read it, almost a year now. I will read it soon, I promise.

Judgement: keep

4. Six’s Legacy (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, #1) by Pittacus Lore. I feel like this book is again one of those random books that I have added in my TBR, without thinking it any further. I’ve seen and heard people talk about this but not enough so that I would leave it in my TBR. And the blurb doesn’t give a way that much. So bye, bye.

Judgement: go

5. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. This book has been so long in my TBR list and I still wanna read it. I just haven’t get around to pick it up.

Judgement: keep

6. This Is What Happy Looks Like (This is What Happy Looks Like, #1) by Jennifer E. Smith. Same goes with this book. I’ve always ended up reading some other books.

Judgement: keep

7. Nine’s Legacy (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, #2) by Pittacus Lore. I didn’t keep the first book in this series so this one gets to go too.

Judgement: go

8. The Fallen Legacies (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files, #3) by Pittacus Lore. And this one also has to say goodbyes.

Judgement: go

9. Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer. This book is one of my most anticipated reads, ever, so this one gets to say. No arguments, haha.

Judgement: keep

10. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. I haven’t read any of Adam’s books, even though I’ve only heard great things about them. I still wanna read every book his has written so I’m gonna keep this.

Judgement: keep

That was harder than I remembered but I’m really happy with all my decisions that I made. I got rid of five books and it’s pretty good achievement if I may say. Let me know if you’ve read any of these books, I would like to hear some of your thoughts. And we will see soon with another post. Bye!

Thanks for reading! ❤

August 2017 Book Haul

Hello everyone! Long time no see!

I’m finally done with my job for this summer and I’ve been just chilling the last couple of days. I was in a weird reading slump but I’m gradually getting out of it which is great, because I haven’t even realized, how much I missed reading. But today, I’m going to share with you the books that I purchased in the month of August. And I know, we’re not done with August quite yet, but I am not planning on getting any more books in this month so why not do a book haul. Without further ado, let’s get hauling!

1. Firstly, I got the second book in the To Kill A Mockingbird duology, I wanna say (I’m not sure, don’t judge me!), and it is Go Set A Watchman (by Harper Lee). I finished To Kill A Mockingbird on Sunday and I absolutelt loved it, so I can wait to read the second book.

2. Next, I got the new paperback edition of Stephen King’s book It. I am currently reading this one but I’m only 100+ pages in. Still, I’m already enjoyin it so far. I wanna finish this before the movie comes out so that’s mostly the reason why I bought it.

3. I couldn’t find the picture for this one but hopefully that doesn’t bother you too much. But the third book that I purchased in this month was The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Adam Douglas. And the reason why I couldn’t find the picture of the cover, is because this book includes all the five books in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy. (It’s funny how they call it a trilogy, even though there’s five books, haha)

4 & 5. I also got the first two books in The Mortal Instruments series, which are City of Bones and City of Ashes (both by Cassandra Clare). I don’t know why I haven’t earlier bought books in this series but I decided that now I’m going to get the whole series.

Those are all the books I got in this month. I try not to buy any more books in this month but there’s a big chance for failure. Anyways, I also ordered a bunch of T-shirts and one hoodie and they all have something to do with books or TV-shows. If you would like me to do a separate post for them, let me know down in the comments. But that’s all I have for today.

Thanks for reading! ❤

Crown of Betrayal by Graceley Knox

MoT and CoB available now.jpg

Hello and happy Tuesday! Today is the official release date of Graceley Knox’s book Crown of Betrayal, which is the second book in The Wicked Kingdoms series. This book series is a paranormal / fantasy romance, and if I may say, that’s almost perfect combination of genres. Here is the beautiful cover of the new book:

Crown of Betrayal Cover.jpg

Now that the threat to Ever is imprisoned and gone for good, she can focus on what really matters: getting rid of the goblins living in her house as “protection” and getting back to work capturing rogue Fae for the Magical Enforcement and Containment Agency. Too bad fate doesn’t agree with her plans.

Ever’s mother is still missing, and Ever and her crew must find an ancient race long believed dead. As questions pile up and danger creeps closer, Ever can no longer deny the pull Dare has over her heart. And her body. As they forge a new bond, betrayal strikes, and it’s closer to home than either of them could have imagined.

Trouble stirs. Alliances fall. The only thing that binds them together is the trust they’ve put in each other and the emotions Ever refuses to name. Everything starts to crumble, and those Ever protects are no longer free from danger. Will she keep those she holds dear safe? Or will she be left to pick up the pieces?

August 2017 TBR

Hey guys! Because it’s already the third of August, it’s time to decide my TBR for this month. If you’ve read my blog during the summer, you might have noticed that I have barely read anything. That’s why I won’t be giving myself many books to finish in this month. But without any further ado, let’s see what books I’m planning on reading in the month of August.

1. To Kill A Mockingbird (To Kill A Mockingbird #1) by Harper Lee. I am currently reading this book but I’m only thirty pages in. It’s a bit slow paced for me because I’m used to read fantasy books that have action right from the beginning but I’m sure I will get into this book, eventually.

2. It by Stephen King. This book is being made in to a movie (again) so I wanna read this before I see the movie adaptation. I know that the movie doesn’t come out until October but this is a massive book and it is very likely that I won’t be able to finish this in any time soon. But I wanna at least start this book in this month. And who knows, maybe I will finish this sooner than I thought.

And those are the two books I would like to finish in August. It’s not an ambitious TBR but considering how many books I’ve read during the past months, those will do just fine. And if you’re wondering, yes, I am still reading Gone (Gone #1) by Michael Grant but I’m reading it every now and then, when I’m in the mood. But it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like it. No! I’m really enjoying it but I’m just in this weird reading slump so I don’t want to force myself to read it because I want thoroughly enjoy it. Anyways, that’s about it. I will see you soon with another post.

July Wrap-Up 2017

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! I feel so bad not posting anything for a month… So I’m apologizing that, again. But don’t you worry, I try to get back to my posting schedule in three weeks because that’t when my summer job ends.

Now I wanna share my really minimal July Wrap-Up. First of all, I bought more books than I read. And secondly, I read the one and only book during the last week of July. If that’s not pathetic then I don’t know what is. Just kidding. Now to the books!

1. The only book that I managed to read was Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. I’m super, super happy that I finlly got around to read this book. I’ve heard so many people mention it and I’ve always wanted to read it myself, too. The ending in this book was my favorite because it was simply so cute and happy. It just made me smile.

Next, it’s time for my July book haul. In a month of July I bought myself three books, which is an avarage and reasonable amount of books for me. I might have bought one of these already in June but it doesn’t make a big difference. Here are the books:

 1. The Final Empire (Mistborn #1) by Brandon Sanderson

2. The Black Prism (Lightbringer #1) by Brent Weeks

3. To Kill A Mockingbird (To Kill A Mockingbird #1) by Harper Lee

Those are the three books I purchased to myself. I’m excited to read all of them and in fact, I’m currently reading To Kill A Mockingbird and I’m really liking it so far. I’m going to do a review of it when I finish it, since it’s a classic book.

That’s all about today’s post. Also, let me know in the comments if you’ve read any of these books, I would like to hear some of your thoughts. I will see you soon with another post!

Thanks for reading! ❤

July 2017 TBR

Hello everyone and happy Saturday. I hope you’re having a great weekend. Because it’s the first day of July, it’s time to decide what books I try to finish in this month. As we all know, I didn’t get to read many books in June so I’m not going to do an ambitious TBR for this month. Here are the books that I try to finish in July:

1. Gone (Gone #1) by Michael Grant. This book was already on my June TBR and I’m so sad that I didn’t manage to read it. I’ve been wanting to read this book for such a long time now so I try to find some time to read this and see, whether or not I’m going  to contune this series all the way to the end.

2. Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer #1) by Laini Taylor. It’s kinda odd that I didn’t read this book in last month, even though I’m super excited to read it. I’ve heard some mixed feelings of this book but I’m not letting them to effect on my reading experience.

3. Death Comes As The End by Agatha Christie. I’m also currently reading this book so I try finish it first before I tackle the other two books. So far I’m really enjoying it.

Those are all the books I try to finish in the month of July. Fingers crossed that I at least get to finish the one I’m currently reading. Let me know in the comments if you’ve read any of these books and what I thought about them, but no spoilers.

Thanks for reading! ❤
